Selecting Text
Tired of dragging the mouse to select
text in a document? To select the entire
text, from anywhere in the document,
press CTRL+A. To select a whole
paragraph, triple click the left mouse
button. To select just one word, double
click on the word.
Here is a simple method of selecting any
amount of text without dragging the
mouse. Position the I-Beam pointer where
you want to begin selecting text and
click the left mouse button. Click the
Down Scroll arrow (if necessary) moving
to the location in the document whre you
want to end the selection. Hold the
Shift Key down and click the left mouse
button again. Two important things about
this procedure; you must use the Down
Scroll arrow to scroll the document, and
you must hold the shift key down first
and release it AFTER you click the
mouse.
If you are not normally using the right
mouse button while working with a
document, try it sometime. It can save
you mouse movement and time. Some things
you will find are:
-
Cut, Copy, Paste
-
Paragraph Formatting
-
Bullets and Numbering
